**This is dedicated to those that have endured hurt inflicted upon them by others.**
Hurt people, hurt people! This concept signifies that individuals that have experienced pain, trauma, or harm are more likely to inflict hurt on others. www.grouporttherapy.com
In today’s society, we see how the concept mentioned above remains true. It plays out everyday on television whether it’s war or someone being harmed by or losing their life to senseless crimes.
We have all been hurt, one way or another. The key is in how we deal with the hurt we are dealt or that we bring upon ourselves through our actions or decisions. However, this is where “emotional intelligence” comes in to play.
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE – the ability to understand, use and manage your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict. Helpingguide.org
Being able to step outside of and be HONEST with ONESELF is step numero uno to establishing “emotional intelligence”.
BE STRONG!
Ephesians 6:10 says, Be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.
It is imperative for those that are constantly hurt by others (haters) to maintain control of your emotional intelligence. It is also imperative to understand that your haters have a heart condition.
Hater – a person who has an intense dislike for another person or thing, a person who thrives on showing hate toward, criticizing or belittling other people or things usually unfairly.
If you look at the word hater, it has the same letters as the word heart. A HATER is a person with a HEART condition. Their heart is at dis-ease! In other words, their heart is uncomfortable or full of pain, worry or agitation. These individuals are in conflict with themselves as they have deep hurt that they have YET to deal with.
As one that has experienced hurt and hate from others, ALL OF MY LIFE; it is imperative that we (those that get hated on) don’t lose sight of the character of those that have hurt us. If they have done it once, they WILL do it again!
Sit back, be still, be quiet and watch your haters show you their TRUE COLORS. Oh it will be revealed to you and yes the realization of who these people TRULY are will hurt. But it is not our duty to fix them or the situation. However, we have to be mindful not to allow our hearts to become cold toward others. We know what it is like to be hurt by family members and those we called friends. We must always show love and be the catalyst for the change we want to see on this ghetto planet.
No matter how many times a snake sheds it’s skin, it will always be a snake. Remember THAT before allowing people back into your life. ←-Life Lessons Learned
Be careful, prayerful and allow God to handle your haters!
Always,
Elle
